Henry Chakardjian, Managing Partner
Henry Chakardjian has spent two decades in international finance with experience in private equity, M&A, commodity trading, real estate investments & financing. He has negotiated complex, large scale transactions investing alongside blue chip companies such as Blackstone, Sony, sovereign wealth funds including Mubadala, Kuwait Investment Authority and some of Asia’s largest State Owned Enterprises. The transactions spanned the consumer & retail, real estate, media and entertainment, commodities, infrastructure, and technology sectors.
Henry is Managing Partner at Humankind Capital, an impact fund, where he manages a portfolio of companies applying frontier technologies to achieve environmental and social benefit. He oversees deal flow, financial analysis and fundraising where he leans on his global network of high net worth individuals, family offices and institutional investors. Whether he’s representing majority, decision-making equity positions or monitoring minority stakes, Henry cultivates value-enhancing business strategies which contribute to significant returns. Investments have ranged from emerging markets and early-stage companies to established, recognized operators. He flawlessly stewards cross border transactions between the United States, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to Humankind Capital, he served as Vice President of Investments at a private equity firm, where he led over $500 million of investments in transactions greater than $5 billion. Previously, he worked as a commodity trader with EDF Trading and Vattenfall where he received several sector leading awards. He is a consultant for large scale real estate deals in the U.S. with a particular focus on equity capital.
Henry earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree at the University of Pennsylvania and has been actively involved in several charitable organizations, including National Geographic’s Pristine Seas and Panthera Corporation.
